Candied onions

Holiday special!


You need: (for use as a condiment)

  • 2 onions
  • Butter
  • A little water
  • Balsamic with candied figs
  • Salt & Pepper

  1. Chop the onion into thin strips.
  2. Fry it in butter for a few minutes, then add 5cl of balsamic with fig confit and 2cl of water.
  3. Cover with a lid and cook over a medium heat until all the liquid has evaporated. Stir occasionally during cooking.
  4. Serve with foie gras or cheese.
  5. You can make jars of it and sterilise it to keep it longer or store it in the fridge.
Tip: This recipe can also be created with wild blackberry balsamic or truffle balsamic.
