Turnip gratin

A winter dish


You will need: (for 4 people)

  • 1kg of turnips
  • 40g white sugar
  • 4 teaspoons of balsamic with dried nuts
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • 100g of cheese for gratin (emmental, comté, whatever you like!)
  • Salt & pepper

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Peel the turnips and cut them into fairly thin slices.
  3. Cook them in the olive oil and sugar until they are caramelised.
  4. Halfway through cooking, add the balsamic with dried nuts.
  5. Place the cooked turnips in a lightly oiled ovenproof dish and sprinkle with the cheese.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes and enjoy!
Tip: This recipe can also be created with caramel vinegar or fish bone balsamic.
