Figs stuffed with goat cheese

A delicious treat

You will need: (per person)

  • 2 figs
  • 2 slices of smoked bacon
  • 3 teaspoons of honey vinegar
  • 4 thin slices of goat cheese

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. Rinse the figs and cut off the top of the stalk, then slice them in half down to the base, without cutting them completely.
  3. Cut the goat cheese slices in half.
  4. Between each slice of fig, slide a half slice of goat cheese.
  5. Wrap a slice of smoked bacon around it. You can hold it in place with a toothpick or roasting twine.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C.
  7. Meanwhile, reduce the honey vinegar in a small saucepan over low heat for 10 minutes until it caramelizes. Keep an eye on it to prevent it from burning.
  8. Serve the honey vinegar reduction over the figs straight from the oven and enjoy with a green salad.
Tip: This recipe can also be created with plain balsamic or caramel vinegar.
