Shrimp in hot sauce

For Valentine’s Day?


You need: (for 2 people)

  • 20 large shrimps
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 4 tablespoons tomato vinegar, basil, smoked paprika
  • 2 small spring onions
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of Espelette pepper
  • Salt & Pepper

  1. Clean, peel and remove the black vein from the shrimp.
  2. Chop the onions and garlic.
  3. In a hot frying pan, cook the shrimp in a spoonful of olive oil and set aside.
  4. Put the pan back on the heat and deglaze with the tomato, basil and smoked paprika vinegar. Then add the onions and garlic with a tablespoon of olive oil.
  5. When they start to colour, add the tomato sauce, water and Espelette pepper. Mix well and reduce for a few minutes over a low heat.
  6. At the end of the cooking time, add the lemon juice.
  7. Add the prawns, coating them well with the sauce, and leave to heat over a medium heat for just one minute to warm them up.
  8. Serve with white rice.
Tip: This recipe can also be created with Espelette pepper vinegar or bear garlic balsamic.
